Let the Teasing Begin

P. J. heard someone approach the apartment door.  There was a loud knock, and then Lori poked her head inside. “All clear?”

Laughing, P.J. motioned for her to come in. “Yeah, just me here. No hanky-panky going on.”

Lori blushed. She had been very careful to let P. J. and Jamie know she was coming in because she didn’t want a repeat of coming into the apartment and hearing them making out. “Where is Jamie? I figured you’d both still be in bed. It is early on a Saturday morning.”

“Her mom came and took her shopping,” P. J. said as she got down a bowl for cereal. “You want to have some cereal with me?”

“Sure,” Lori said. She could always count on P. J. and Jamie for a free meal. It was the middle of July and she had another month before her parents would be refilling her account for food on campus.

“You’re here awful early. What’s up with that?” P. J. asked. She carried her bowl of cereal into the living room and sat down on the couch.

Lori followed suit. “My mother was having a yard sale, slash bake sale to raise money for one of church’s programs. I helped set up but when her church group got there and they started talking about the new singles program they have, I knew it was time for me to leave.”

“Singles program? Like a meet and hook-up thing?”

“Something like that,” Lori said, then stuffed a spoonful of cereal in her mouth.  She chewed her food up, and then said, “Of course, because it’s a Christian group, they are looking for that perfect someone to get married to. Because, as you know, people aren’t supposed to have sex until after they are married.”

“And I’m sure all of the people who come to that singles program, and meet someone, stick to that rule,” P. J. said sarcastically.

“I’m sure.” Lori picked up the remote for the television. “My parents aren’t going to let me move to campus this semester.” Lori let out a long sigh. “Dad says it costs too much and Mom says that she’s concerned that I’ll be corrupted by bad influences on campus.”

“Like the lesbians who are waiting to jump your bones?”

Lori laughed, but blushed at the same time. “Yeah, well, of course they don’t know about those corruptive influences.”

“I thought your parents knew you were gay?” P. J. asked, turning to look at Lori.
“I’ve told them that I prefer being with girls but they have not accepted it,” Lori said with a sigh. “That was one of the reasons I left the house this morning when they started talking about the singles program. Mom has been trying to talk me into going to it for months now. She said there’s a young man that comes to the gatherings that she thinks would be just perfect for me.” Lori got up to take her bowl in the kitchen. She held out her hand for P. J.’s, “Dad has made it clear that if I continue to pursue the gay lifestyle that he will cut off funds for school, so I’m trying to just keep a low profile as far as they are concerned until I get out of school.”

“You scholarship doesn’t cover much more than your tuition, does it?” P. J. asked.

“No, so I need money from my parents for books, food, clothes, and anything else I need,” Lori said, taking P. J.’s bowl.  “You don’t know how much I appreciate you and Jamie letting me hang out over here.”

“Do your parents know that we are a lesbian couple?”

“Hell, no!” Lori said from the kitchen. “They would never allow me to come over here. And before you say it, yes, I’m twenty years old, but I have no money, no job, and no home of my own. I have to kiss my parents’ asses for at least one more year.”

P. J. nodded, “I understand where you’re coming from. If it wasn’t for Jamie’s dad running interference for her with Jamie’s mom, she would probably have the same problem.”

“I thought her mom was finally chilling out?” Lori asked as she came back into the living room and sat down on the couch, at the opposite end from P. J.

“She tolerates me.” P. J. said with a shrug, “But only because Jamie’s dad won’t let her push Jamie to end our relationship.”

Lori picked up the remote for the television. She kicked off her tennis shoes, and then propped her socked feet up on the coffee table. “Do you think Jamie would leave if her parents cut off her money?”

“No,” P. J. said confidently, following Lori’s example, she put her feet up on the coffee table. “We’ve already talked about that scenario. I would quit school and she would get a part-time job so we could pay for her to go.  No one is going to come between us, definitely not her parents.”

Lori nodded. She turned the television on to a sports channel to see what had been happening with some of the baseball teams she followed.  P. J. and she watched sports news for a little while and then Lori started flipping through the channels.  They debated on what they wanted to watching a show about rejuvenating houses that looked really horrible.

That’s how Jamie and her mother found them two hours later.  “What are you two watching?” Jamie asked when she saw some guy painting the outside of house that looked like it should have been bulldozed.

“It’s a show about refurbishing houses,” P. J. said. “It’s amazing the difference they can make with a house and a fairly small budget.”

“Well,” Jamie’s mom said, “If you were pursuing a career that would provide you with a good income, you wouldn’t have to settle for a house that would have to be refurbished.”

“I don’t know,” P. J. said, “I think it would be fun to fix a house up from a horrible mess to something really nice.”

“Me too,” Lori said, nodding in agreement.

“You would,” Jamie’s mother said under her breath.

Jamie rolled her eyes at her mother. “Stop baiting each other,” Jamie said, giving P. J. a glare.

P. J. shrugged and turned back to the television. Lori turned around too. When Jamie and her mother disappeared into the bedroom, Lori said, “I don’t think her mother likes you much.”

“She’s a typical mother-in-law,” P. J. said with a shrug. “No one is ever going to be good enough for her only child.  I don’t think it would matter if I was a guy. Her problem with me has more to do with me coming from the lower-middle class side of the tracks, than me being a girl.”

“Does she usually call before she comes?”

“Yeah, usually,” P. J. said. “She has show up unexpected a few times. Fortunately, she hasn’t arrived during a moment like you walked in on.”

Lori turned beet red. “I knocked on the door before I came in, I guess you guys didn’t hear me.”

“So how much did you hear?”

“More than I wanted too,” Lori answered, turning even redder, if that were possible.

“More than you wanted too, what?” Jamie asked as she and her mother came out of the bedroom.

Lori looked away. “Aaa...I heard more than I wanted to hear the other day.”

“Heard more than you wanted to?” Jamie asked with a questioning look on her face.

“Aaa...you know,” Lori hesitated, looking at Jamie and hoping she would catch the hint so they wouldn’t be talking about her walking in on Jamie and P. J. in front of Jamie’s mom. “The other day, I came by and...well, you know.”

Jamie’s mom raised an eyebrow, “Why are you guys talking in code?”

“Yeah,” Jamie said, “What are you talking about?”

“Um...” Lori began, and then cleared her throat. “We were talking about the other day when I came over here earlier than I should have.”

Jamie still looked confused for a moment, and then it dawned her what Lori was talking about. “Oh,” she said looking at her mother, and then away, “that day.”

Jamie’s mother raised an eyebrow, looking from Jamie to P. J. and Lori, who were both looking away and blushing. She looked back at Jamie who was also blushing. “Oh my God!” She pulled her purse closer to her. “I’ll talk to you later, young lady,” she said, glaring at Jamie.

“Okay,” Jamie said, but never met her mother’s gaze.  Her mother turned and quickly left the apartment.

“Wow, that was awkward,” Lori said, turning back to Jamie, whose face was still blood red.

“I can’t believe we just had that conversation with my mother here.”

“I was trying not to,” Lori said. A smile creeping onto her face. “But you wouldn’t let it go.”

Jamie laughed. “Yeah, you did try to keep us from going there.”

“Yeah, I’m sure the image of you and me locked in a passionate embrace is burned into her mind now.” P. J. got up, went to Jamie, and kissed her on the lips.

“Well, good,” Lori said. “That way I won’t be the only one with that image in their mind.”

Jamie pointed her finger at Lori. “You can get that image out of your head right now. I don’t even want you to be thinking about P. J. being naked.”

“Eww,” Lori made a face, “Me, neither.”

P. J. threw the remote she had been carrying at Lori. “Bite me.”

They all laughed.

An Inconvenient Moment

Since the beginning of summer, Jamie and P. J. had been entertaining the friends just about every night.  P. J. had been frustrated on more than one occasion, when she had wanted to make love with Jamie, they had been interrupted by someone showing up. It was the Fourth of July and Brandi, Lori, and Kayla had all gone home to see their families for the holidays and P. J. was expecting to have some alone time with Jamie.

P. J. had been surprised that Lori was going to see her family since they had such a problem with her sexual orientation. But, apparently one of her grandmothers was very sick, so Lori’s dad had called and asked her to come home.
She and Jamie had gone home the weekend before. Jamie’s parents didn’t really celebrate the Fourth in a big way, but P. J.’s parents did. Her stepfather loved the Fourth of July, especially since he came from a long line of soldiers.  He usually bought three or four hundred dollars worth of fireworks and put on a big show for family, friends and neighbors.

Jamie had been hanging out at the house all day studying. She was taking three classes this summer and up to her eyeballs in homework. P. J. had toyed with taking a class during the summer but had changed her mind.

When P. J. got home, Jamie wasn’t in the living room studying. Usually, she would be piled up on the couch with her nose buried deep in a book. P. J. looked into the kitchen but she couldn’t see any movement there.  Jamie still didn’t have a car of her own so she couldn’t just leave unless she walked somewhere or someone came and got her, but she always called or text P. J. to let know if she were going somewhere.

P. J. headed for the bedroom, thinking that maybe Jamie had decided to take a nap. When she got to the bedroom, she was greeted by a pleasant surprise. Jamie was laid out on the bed spread eagle and naked. “Oh my, my,” P. J. said, licking her lips.

Jamie raised her head and looked at her. “It is so hot. I had to cool off.”

Tossing her keys and wallet on the dresser, P. J. started unfastening her pants. “Well, I hope you got cool enough because it is about to get very hot in here.” She pulled her shirt over her head and tugged off her sports bra.

“Is that right?” Jamie said, her blue eyes watching P. J.’s every move.

“Yep,” P. J. said. She slid off her panties, making her just as naked as Jamie. She crawled up from the bottom of the bed and over Jamie. “I think it’s been awhile since we’ve been this alone in this apartment. No one is here to hear you scream, except me.” She leaned down and ran her tongue across the outer edge of Jamie’s ear, making her shiver.

“I think you are right,” Jamie murmured and pulled P. J. down for a deep kiss.

P. J. slid her leg between Jamie’s and pressed herself into Jamie. She tore her lips away from Jamie’s and kissed her way slowly down Jamie’s body. Jamie pushed at her shoulders, wanting her to hurry. P. J. was tempted to give in to Jamie’s needs but it had been too long since she had been able to take her time and really make Jamie crazy.

She ran her hands and mouth over all the sensitive places that made Jamie squirm. When she finally reached the apex of Jamie’s legs, Jamie was more than ready for her. She began her exploration of Jamie slowly, letting the tension build. But, Jamie was too ready and was quickly screaming out P. J.’s name.

P. J. lay her head on Jamie’s stomach as they caught their breath. After a few minutes, Jamie said. “Did you hear that?”

“What?” P. J. lifted her head and heard the faint sound of giggling.

“It’s probably next door,” she said, placing a kiss on Jamie’s stomach.

“I don’t know,” Jamie said, still listening. “It sounds like it’s coming from out living room.”

P. J. moved further up Jamie’s body, placing kisses along the way. “You’re just imagining things. No one’s here.”

The giggling was a little louder. “I told you, someone is here.” Jamie covered her face with her hands. “Oh my God! Someone is in the living room and heard us.”

“Heard you,” P. J. corrected. She looked up to Jamie’s eyes. She grinned mischievously.

“Is that right?” Jamie said, slipping her arms under P. J.’s and pulling her up to meet her lips. When P. J. pulled back from the searing kiss Jamie had just given her, Jamie was grinning wickedly. “Your turn,” she said and flip P. J. over onto her back, almost causing them to fall off the bed.

They both burst out laughing but Jamie was determined. She pulled P. J. into the middle of the bed and straddled her. P. J. tried to dislodge her but Jamie grabbed her hands and pinned them over her head. “I know you are stronger than me but you can’t resist this,” Jamie said as she leaned down and kissed P. J.’s neck.

Within in seconds, P. J.’s was completely under Jamie’s control and her screams more than rivaled Jamie’s.

When they could both breathe again, they lay next to each other listening. “I thought I heard the door shut earlier,” P. J. said.

“You could hear something over your screams?” Jamie asked.

P. J. grinned and pulled Jamie into an embrace. “No, before that.” She kissed Jamie’s forever. “Someone could have set off a bomb during all that and I wouldn’t have heard a thing.”

Jamie smiled into P. J.’s shoulder, then kissed her lightly on her collar bone. “I’m starving. You want to order pizza?”

“Yeah. I stopped at Redbox on the way home and got us a new movie.”

Jamie sat up, “A romance?”

P. J. grinned, “Yeah, but I’d also ordered Loving Annabelle for us to watch on the computer but I figured we’d do that when we went to bed.”

Jamie leaned back down and kissed P. J. lightly on the lips. “Uhm, sounds like round two may be coming up later.”

Blushing lightly, P. J. said, “Maybe.” Then she grabbed Jamie and pulled her back down on the bed, “Or we could do round two now.”

Before Jamie could answer, there was a knock at the door. “Was that at our door?”

“I think so,” P. J. said, getting up and going to the dresser. She pulled out a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, and dressed quickly.

P. J. padded into the living room and looked at the peep hole of the door. It was Jamie’s mother and Lori. “Your mom’s here.” P. J. called to Jamie.

“What?!” Jamie jumped off the bed and searched for her clothes.

P. J. opened the door. “Hi, Mrs. Edwards. Hey, Lori.”

Lori wouldn’t meet P. J.’s gaze and her cheeks were flushed. P. J. gave her a questioning look. Jamie’s mom stepped into the apartment, past P. J. “Where’s Jamie?”

“Here,” Jamie said, as she popped out of the bedroom.

Jamie’s mother looked at Jamie, who even though she had tried to straighten her hair out, still looked like she had just gotten out of bed. Her mother’s gaze swung to P. J. whose t-shirt didn’t hide the fact that she wasn’t wearing a bra and she was sure her hair was even more messing. “I guess I should have called before I came,” Jamie’s mom said, looking towards the windows overlooking the parking lot, then following her gaze until she reached the window and looked out. “I just happened to be down here taking care of some business and thought I’d stop by.” She moved the curtain aside and looked around the parking lot. “I saw P. J.’s Jeep and Lori was coming down from your apartment so I assumed you were home.”

P. J. swung her gaze to Lori, who had a key to the apartment because she practically lived there. Lori blushed deep red and turned away. P. J. rolled her eyes heavenward. So there had been someone in the apartment giggling. Lori must have heard everything.P. J. moved towards the bedroom and Jamie went to the couch and sat down.  “That’s fine, Mom.” Jamie looked at P. J. and scowled at her as she tried to slip out of the room. “We both just got home and were about to order pizza. You want to have some with us?”

Jamie’s mom looked back from the window to Jamie, “No, I’ll just visit for a little bit. Your dad is coming down and we’re going to go see a musical at that new fancy theater they just opened here.”

“I’m going to just go hop in the shower,” P. J. said, motioning to the bedroom. “I’ll be right back.” She turned her gaze to Lori, who still wouldn’t look at her. “Why don’t you order us some pizza, Lori?”

“Okay,” Lori said, “I’ll just go into the kitchen and see if you guys have any sales papers. We’ll figure out who has the best deal tonight.”

P. J. slipped off into the bedroom and Lori went into the kitchen, leaving Jamie alone with  her mother, who looked towards the door P. J. just disappeared into, “I didn’t come at a bad time, did I?”

Jamie couldn’t help but blush as she lied to her mother, “No, it’s fine, Mom. We were both just resting a little bit after our long, hot day. So, what kind of business did you have down here?” Jamie asked, quickly changing the subject.

Family

Jamie took P. J.'s hand and led her into the living room.  "P. J. this is Jayden. Jayden, this is my girlfriend, P. J."

Jayden stood up and offered his hand to P. J., "Nice to meet you."

"You too," P. J. said, taking Jayden's hand and giving it a firm shake.

P. J. went into the kitchen and got a piece of pizza and a Dew. She went into the living room and sat down on the floor next to Jamie. Brandi's brother had moved over next to Brandi. Jamie was sitting next to Lori. She patted the floor next to her and P. J. settled down next to her. They spent the rest of the evening watching Jack Black movies.

Brandi's brother, Jayden was a pretty cool guy.  He was quieter than Brandi, who could be quite loud and boisterous sometimes. They had been raised by their mother and grandmother, both who were very strict. Brandi's father was a mix of Hispanic, white, and black. Brandi apparently took more after him. Her skin was a medium brown and she had straight black hair. Jayden looked more like his mother. He keeps his hair cut very short so it's hard to say how curly it really is.  His skin is a shade darker than Brandi's but they both had their mother's high cheekbones and black eyes. The other difference in them is that Jayden is tall and lean, like the typical basketball player he is. Brandi is short and stout with big breasts and a round butt. But, both of them are very attractive people with beautiful smiles and wonderful personalities.

Brandi's mother came by P. J. and Jamie's apartment frequently, and sometimes unexpectedly. P. J. always knew that Brandi was at the apartment if her hand-me-down, white, nineteen ninety-nine Cadillac or if her mother's brand new, black Cadillac was in the parking lot. Her mother's Caddy being in the parking lot was not usually a good thing. It meant that Brandi had not told her where she was going to be that day or her mother was checking to make sure she was really at their apartment.

P. J. had thought Jamie's mother was over-protective and tough until she had met Ms. Huddleston.  She wasn't a tall woman, but she had a commanding persona that made you almost want to stand at attention when she came into the room.

Jamie's mom always called before she came by and P. J. was glad. She'd really hate for her to show up at an inconvenient moment.  She still wasn't really happy about Jamie's relationship with P. J. but since they had been together for over a year now, Jamie's mother had come to terms with the fact that being gay was not just a phase for Jamie. In fact, Jamie was more out and proud than P. J, who tended to be very quiet about her private life.

Lori was like P. J. in that sense. The fact that Lori's parents were very religious and disapproved of Lori's lifestyle played into Lori's keeping quiet about her sexuality.  Her parents hadn't exactly thrown her out when she told them she was gay but they made it clear that she was never to bring a girlfriend to their home.  It was really quite sad because Lori's parents and her older sister lived right here in town, but Lori seldom went home for any reason.  P. J. and Jamie had kind of adopted her as a little sister since she really didn't have a family.

Lori was going to Western on a softball scholarship so she had work very hard to keep her grades up.  That was one of the reasons she had come to be a part of their group. Jamie and Kayla had become fast friends when they met in a biology class. They had been assigned to a group project with Brandi, Lori and a guy named, Roger. Lori had been really struggling with the class because science wasn't her thing. She was just taking the class because it was one of her general education class requirements.  Jamie decided they would have study sessions at the apartment so they could help Lori and get their projects done.  The guy, Roger, was a lazy jerk and just barely did anything too help with the project. It didn't really matter, Jamie, Kayla and Brandi had put most of the project together and helped Lori help them. They all ended up getting a A on the project.

Like P. J., Lori was stocky in an athletic way. She kept her her straight, copper hair cut right at her collar. Most of the time she wore a ball cap with her hair pulled through the hole in the back of the hat. Her steel grey eyes seemed cold and aloft sometimes, but P. J. knew it was because Lori kept her walls up with most people. After being shunned by her family, she had a hard time trusting people or letting anyone get close to her.

Kayla came from a family very similar to P. J.'s, except her parents were still together.  They were actually very cool and invited all of the girls over for cookouts and family events. Kayla was out but she was also very, very shy. She talked to Jamie more than she did P. J. about stuff because they were more a like. Kayla, despite being a computer nerd, was very feminine.  Her long, platinum blonde hair fell to the middle of her back but she usually kept it in a ponytail. Her make-up was always applied to perfection but very light. She never over did the make up and usually wore a light coat of lip gloss versus lipstick.

It had been a happy twist of fate that Brandi, Lori and Kayla had all been gay and had become such close friends with Jamie and P. J.  P. J. really enjoyed having the girls over, except when they showed up unexpectedly, at an inconvenient time.

The Other Shoe

P. J. parked her Jeep. She got out, drug her backpack and lunch pail out of the backseat.  She saw Kayla’s Taurus and Brandy’s Cadillac in the parking lot so she expected the usual crew to be at the apartment.  I was Thursday night and as usual, Kayla, Brandy and Lori would be at the apartment to hang out.

Depending on who had money, they would either order food in, cook up a pot of spaghetti  or some other cheap food concoction and either watch a movie, or play a board game. P. J. was hoping for a movie. She had spent a lot of her day creating business cards and brochures for people who had no artistic talents but were extremely picky about what she was creating.

P. J. made her way up the stairs the apartment. When she got to the door, she heard the sounds of the television coming through. Everyone one must be watching a movie. She hoped there was food.  She opened the door.  Kayla was draped across the loveseat. Brandy was sitting on the floor in front of the love seat. Lori and Jamie were sitting on the floor in front of the couch, and there was a guy sitting between the two of them with his arms stretched out behind them. He wasn’t actually touching either of them with his outstretched arms, but P. J. didn’t know who he was and she did not like him sitting so close to Jamie.

When P. J. closed the door a little harder than necessary, Jamie turned around and smiled at her. “Hey, P. J.. Grab a Dew, piece of pizza, and join us. Stuff’s in the kitchen,” Jamie said, pointing in the direction of the kitchen.

“Okay,” P. J. said, then she leaned down to Jamie and kissed her lightly on the lips. “I’m gonna just change first.”

Jamie frowned and gave P. J. a questioning look as P. J. walked away.  P. J. went into their bedroom and stripped out of her jeans and button-down shirt. She put on long, athletic shorts and a t-shirt. She was just about to leave the bedroom when Jamie came in. She backed P. J. up towards the dresser. “So what was that about in the living room? You marking your territory or something?”

P. J. folded her arms over her chest. “Do I need to mark my territory?”

Jamie grabbed P. J’s forearms, pulling them out.  She stepped into P. J., slamming her leg between P. J’s thighs. She put her hand behind P. J.’s head and pulled her down for a fierce kiss.

Putting her hands on Jamie’s hips, P. J. pulled Jamie harder into her.  Their kiss was bruising. When Jamie finally pulled back, she said, “Did that feel like you needed to mark your territory?”

P. J. shook her head and tried to catch her breath.  “I’m sorry. I just didn’t like how close that guy was sitting next to you.”

Jamie ran her hands up P. J’s chest and squeezed her breasts roughly, “You are never going to have to worry about anyone sitting close to me, especially a guy.” Jamie kissed her hard again, then took her hand, “Come on, I’ll introduce you to Brandy’s brother.”

The Story Brought from M.E. Tudor's blog

Wedded Bliss

P. J. got used to Jamie having study groups at their apartment and tried not to get jealous everytime Jamie touched one of her friends.  Three of the girls; Kayla, Brandy and Lori, had become good friends with both Jamie and P. J. It wasn't unusual for all three of them to spend the weekend with Jamie and P. J., kind of like a college age slumber party.

Jamie had become quite the wife since P. J. worked as well as went to school.  She had gotten to the point where she would get up and fix breakfast for P. J., make her lunch, and discuss what the evening meal would be.  P. J. was still surprised to come home most nights with dinner on the table or a plate fixed and in the refrigerator waiting for her if Jamie had an evening class or something else going on.

Things were so perfect, in fact, that P. J. was waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop.  It just seemed so easy.  Maybe things could really be this perfect for real, or maybe not.

Check back next week for the next installment of Jamie and P.J. continued...

Making Up

Jamie went back into the living room with her study group.  P. J. got into the shower.  She hated that they were fighting and felt guilty about being the one to start the fight, especially while Jamie's friends were here.  But, she was tired and she didn't feel like being social.  If Jamie would have warned her, she would have went to her aunt's or done something else to chill out before coming home.

P. J. had only met a few of the girls that were here and they seemed okay.  She wondered if Jamie had told them that they were lovers or if she had just said they were roommates.  The fear of Jamie changing her mind about their relationship, finding someone else, or just deciding she wasn't really gay reared it's ugly head again.  Their relationship was still new even though they had been together for seven months now.  P.J. told herself that she was being silly and she would apologize to Jamie after the girls left.  She was just so afraid of Jaimie walking out of life like her father had.

Jamie came back into the bedroom and heard the shower shut off.  She felt bad about jumping P.J.'s shit.  She should have thought about how P. J. would have felt about coming home to a house full of people.  She pulled her shirt off, leaving on her sports bra and opened the bathroom door.  P.J. was standing in front of the vanity drying her hair.  "You sure you're done?" Jamie asked from the doorway.

P.J. gave her a puzzled look then sucked in her breath when Jamie pulled off her bra and started undoing her pants.  "I..." P. J. was still taken by surprise when Jamie let her know that she wanted her.

"I think you missed a spot or two," Jamie said, then slid her jeans and underwear off.  "I think you need to get back in the shower at let me help you wash better."

Jamie slip into P. J.'s arms. "I'm sorry for being a bitch," she said against P.J.'s lips.

"Me, too." P.J. kissed her deeply then pulled her toward the shower.

First Fight

P. J. unlocked the door to the apartment and was greeted by the sound of laughter.  She was suprised to see that Jamie had six friends from school sitting on the floor of the living room, that still only had a couch in it. They had a pizza box open on the floor between there, books open and notebooks strewn around.

Jamie looked up at P.J. and smiled, "Hey, just in time. You want a piece of pizza?"

"No," P.J. said in a sharper tone than she had intended, illiciting a frown from Jamie. "I'm going to hop in the shower." She went into the bedroom and threw her backpack on the bed.

Jamie came into the room just as P.J. was stripping off her shirt. "What's the problem?" Jamie asked.

"I just wasn't expecting to come home to a house full of people," P.J. said and threw her shirt on the bed.

Jamie closed the door and leaned against it.  "This is my study group from English class. I didn't think it would be a problem."

P. J. unfastened her jeans and started taking them off, "I just wished you would have text me or called me to let me know.  It just caught me off guard."

"So am I going to have to let you know every time I have someone here?" Jamie asked, putting her hands on her hips.

Glaring at Jamie, P. J. bit back the angry retort that was on the tip of her tongue. She didn't want what appeared to be their first problem to become a huge fight in front of Jamie's friends. "It would be nice if you would, especially if they are still going to be here when I get home."

"Hey, Jamie, come on let's finish this up." One of the girls called from the other room.

"Fine." Jamie snapped and left the room, closing the door with a slam.

Jamie and P. J.: Moving in together

Jamie had, initially, been extremely pissed off that P. J. had dropped down to going to school half-time so she could go to work full-time at Kinko's. P. J. finally made her understand that she was getting to do a lot of graphic art work when she was helping clients set up their business cards and creating posters. In effect, she was getting more of a hands on education than she had been getting at school. Plus, P. J. didn't want to pass up the opportunity for a full-time job and had jumped on the opportunity when her manager had asked her to start working full-time.  The extra income allowed P. J. to have enough money to get an apartment for her and Jamie.

P. J. had been worried that Jamie's parents would balk at the idea of the two girls moving in together but Jamie's dad had been excited about how much money it was going to save him so he wouldn't have to pay for dorm housing.  Jamie's mother, who still really hasn't come to accept their relationship, hadn't been as excited about it but she went along with it because Jamie's dad said it was okay.

Jamie had flipped when P.J. told her that she had already signed a lease for the apartment and they spent the night in the apartment, making love and sleeping on a sleeping bag on the bedroom floor. The next day Jamie actually cut classes to help P.J. move all of their clothes into the apartment and what little furniture they owned.  P.J.'s mom and stepdad, Dave found them a used queen size bed that was in excellent shape. Jamie's parents insisted on buying them a sheet and comforter set.

Suddenly cont...Showing Jamie the Apartment.

“What are we doing here?” Jamie asked as P.J. pulled into a parking space at the apartment complex.

P.J. turned in her seat, she brushed a stray blond hair away from her face nervously. “What do you think about us living together?”

Jamie’s eyes widened, “Seriously?  I would love to live with you.” Reaching over and taking P.J.’s hand, “I would love to wake up next to you every morning and not just when we slip away and get a hotel.”

“Me too,” P.J. said and looked up at the windows of the apartment she’s leased a few hours earlier.  “So what do you think about this apartment complex?”

Raising a questioning eyebrow, Jamie looked around the grounds of the apartment complex, “It’s nice. Are you wanting to look at an apartment here?”

“Yeah, in fact I got the key to one earlier so we could take a look at them,” P.J.said, stretching the truth just a little.

Jamie smiled and opened her door. “Let’s go look at it.”

P.J. opened her door and got out of the Jeep too. She took Jamie by the elbow and led her up to the second floor. She paused in front of the door of the apartment.  I hope she likes this, she prayed to herself.  P.J. put the key in the lock, unlocked the door and pushed it open for Jamie.

Stepping inside, Jamie let out a little gasp. The living room was huge with a small kitchen separated from it by a long bar.  The windows looked out over the parking lot and let in a lot of light.  Jamie turned and smiled at P.J., “I love this light gray carpet and how big the living room is.

They went down the hall and P.J. turned on the light to the bathroom.  It have a tub and shower curtain, a single sink and toilet.  P.J. opened the door wide enough to step inside. “There’s shelves inside the wall to put the towels and stuff. she said as she showed Jamie the shelves in the wall .

“That’s cool,” Jamie said. “I love that it has a tub and not just a shower. I miss taking baths.”

Leaning in for a kiss, P.J. said, “Hmm, maybe we could take one together.”

Jamie kissed her back hard, “That would be awesome!”

P.J. took her hand and let her to the huge bedroom with a walk in closet.  “This room is big enough for a king sized bed.”

“It is, oh my God, this room is huge,” Jamie agreed, then went to check out the closet. “Oh my, this is a big closet. We could definitely get all our clothes in here.” Jamie put her hands on her hips and looked around the room. “It’s a shame we can’t afford anything like this.”

“What if we could afford it?” P.J. asked, putting her arms around Jamie and pulling her into her.

The Beginning of the Continuing story from Suddenly

I haven't decided what to title this continuing story yet but I have some ideas for the beginning of the new story that will start at the beginning of Jamie and P.J.'s second year of college. This story will be told from P.J.'s point of view and shed some light on how she was feeling during some of the things that happened in "Suddenly".  So here we go:

The past year had been like a fairy tale that still hadn't ended. P.J. Thomas watched her beautiful girlfriend, Jamie Edwards walk down the steep grassy hill at Western Kentucky University's campus and praying the fairy tale would last forever.

The smile that spread across Jamie's face when she saw P.J. waiting for her by their black Jeep widened when she saw the roses P.J. was holding in her hands.  P.J. opened her arms and pulled Jamie into her embrace when Jamie got to her.

"What are those for? Our anniversary was months ago." Jamie said, kissing P.J. on the lips.

"Do I have to have a reason to give you flowers?" P.J. asked before kissing Jamie again and releasing her from her embrace.

Jamie took the flowers from her, "No, I guess not." She brought the bright red roses to her noses and inhaled their scent deeply. "They are so beautiful."

"Just like you," P.J. grinned. "But they are for a special occasion."  P.J. opened the Jeep door and got in the driver's side seat.

Pressing herself agains P.J., Jamie asked, "So what's the occasion?"

P.J.'s grin widened. "It's a surprise. Get in."

Pulling her lip with her teeth and squinting one eye at P.J., Jamie asked, "What are you up to?"

"It's a surprise," P.J. said again. "Now get in if you want to find out what the surprise it."

Jamie skipped her way around the Jeep and got in the passager side.  She put the flowers on the dash of the Jeep, turned to P.J., put her hands on either side of P.J's face and kissed her thoroughly.  They both were breathing hard when Jamie finally released P.J., "Well, what ever the reason, thank you for the flowers."

"You're welcome," P.J. smiled as she started the Jeep. She hoped Jamie would be even more excited about the surprise she had in store for her.  P.J. had done something for both of them but without discussing it with Jamie so she hoped Jamie wouldn't get mad about it.  She was so excited to she her the surprise she could barely focus on driving to the west side of town where the surprise waited.  Please be as excited about this as I am, P.J. prayed softly as they entered the apartment complex where P.J. had just gotten them a new apartment that they would share. It would be their first apartment, their first time living together.
